Air Seychelles, the national airline of the Republic of Seychelles, has recently announced its decision to extend its services to Tanzania’s capital city of Dar es Salaam. The service is scheduled to be launched on the 2nd of December 2014 that will include twice-weekly flights to the city. The decision to launch flights to Dar es Salaam is taken in consideration to extend its network of flights over the Indian Ocean and Africa.
Air Seychelles has allocated a two-class Airbus A320 accommodating 16 Business Class seats and 120 Economy Class seats for every flight to Dar es Salaam. This is expected to bring a further boost in the economic trade between the two countries, given that Dar es Salaam is one of the fastest growing economic centers of the continent of Africa.
The decision to launch twice-weekly flights to the city has been taken with the intension to promote tourism and traffic flows to Seychelles. Dar es Salaam is also considered to be one of the tourist hubs of Africa and hence is expected to bring a considerable growth margin to the company. It is the hub of some of Tanzania’s top-rated tourist attractions that include Mount Kilimanjaro (the world’s highest free standing mountain), Selous Game Reserve, Serengeti National Park and many more.
