We are all aware of Air Zimbabwe’s deteriorating situation and the hassle that has been created by the former pilot’s strike. As a consequence of these circumstances, passengers whose flights were postponed had to be compensated on other flights which were already booked resulting in disturbing the entire system. Some victims of this uproar still await their refund while others look forward to heading back home.
According to the latest update, the airline regretfully announces Saturday’s flight of July 23, 2011 departing to Harare from London Gatwick, is cancelled. It will be flying on Sunday, July 24, 2011, due to which Sunday’s flight is oversubscribed. For this reason, Air Zimbabwe has decided to operate an additional flight on Tuesday, July 28, 2011, that will be taking Sunday’s passengers to their destination, Harare.
The two flights (Saturday’s flight shifted to Sunday and Sunday’s flight shifted to Tuesday) will be departing from Gatwick airport at 1900 hrs. The check-in for these flights will open at 1500 hrs on the coming Sunday and Tuesday.
If you are one of the passengers who was scheduled on any of the flights and has not been informed then immediately contact your travel agent or the airline directly to avoid any further inconvenience.
We all have our fingers crossed hoping that the situation gets better!
