London: Premium travellers of British Airways now can enjoy one more treat! The airline has acquired electric taxis for passengers that are on a connecting flight out of the airport. The taxis would collect people coming down the stairs from one aeroplane and drive them to the next aircraft so that they do not miss the connecting flight. This is a taste of luxury for even those passengers that have the shortest stays at London’s Heathrow Airport.
The London Electric Vehicle Company supplies the taxis to the airline. The taxis come with Wi-Fi internet facility so you can keep using the internet seamlessly. Additionally, the passenger can charge their phones and laptops during the short hop from one aeroplane to the next. The panoramic roof of the taxis allows the passengers the rare chance of watching aircraft up close.
People using this service are very pleased and surprised to see an electric car waiting to move them to their next connecting aeroplane. The electric taxi is part of a British Airways’ broader initiative to lessen carbon emission and to improve the quality of services it provides to the airline’s loyal customers. BA turns 100 years old this year, and the airline has allocated £ 6.5 million to purchase new aircraft, refurbish cabins, provide new catering and construct new lounges in 2019.
The Electric Car Service is entirely free of charge. The CEO of London Electric Vehicle Company said, “We’re thrilled that British Airways has picked our electric vehicles to establish this innovative new service. We created the TX eCity with the purpose of pleasing customers with a more premium experience, and thanks to British Airways, even those with the briefest of stays in London can now fly in comfort and style, in the world’s most advanced electric taxi.”
