The Hong Kong based International airline, Cathay Pacific has recently announced its instructions and special ticketing guidelines for Bali, Indonesia Volcanic Ash affected travellers.
The airline states that rebooking/rerouting charges will be waived for all tickets issued worldwide (irrespective of fare type) on/before 28 January 2011 for travel on Cathay Pacific Airline (CX) with confirmed bookings involving flights to Bali between 28 January 2011 and 31 January 2011, with immediate effect. These charges are only waived for flights cancellations and delays, due to Bali (DPS) volcanic ash.
The other details provided by Cathay Pacific are as follows:
There is no waiver on cancellation and refund charges and Rebooking/rerouting charges will be waived on conditions that such requests are made on/before 31 January 2011 and before departure for travel on Cathay Pacific with confirmed booking involving Bali (DPS) between 28 January 2011 and 31 January 2011. No show passenger is not eligible for the waiver. Revised (new) travel date must be on / before 21 February 2011 and subject to flight availability. In which case, the ticket expiry date will be adjusted accordingly. The newly rebooked sector must observe and conform to the conditions of the respective fare rule, e.g. blackout dates, flight application, weekend / weekday travel, stopover charges and applicable seasonality by collecting additional / refunding difference (if any) as appropriate. Reissuance charges will only be waived due to the expiry of the original ticket.
Note: For flight that have been cancelled and / or confirmed to be cancelled, please handle as involuntary rerouting case.
