The American Based Airline, head Quartered in Atlanta Delta Airline has announced to enhance its onboard facilities by addition of in-flight Wi-Fi access. The airline is a major flight provider in US, especially notable for getting flights to New York, Washington, New Jersey, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and nearly all around the country. Delta also connects cities in US with UK Heathrow airport and airports around the world.
This prominent airline will soon be providing its passengers with a Wi-Fi access onboard to 223 regional jet aircrafts operated by Delta Connections Carriers. This will expand the availability of Gogo In-flight Internet Service by 40%. Delta Airline is the first domestic carrier to install Wi-Fi on its mainline and regional aircraft fleets. These crafts are currently serving two classes of service.
At this occasion, Tim Mapes, Delta’s senior vice president – Marketing said:
Adding Wi-Fi capabilities to our two-class regional jets marks another milestone in our efforts to invest more than $2 billion to enhance our airport facilities, aircraft fleet and onboard services for customers through 2013,
He further added: We continue to make significant progress in aligning the products and services offered by our regional airline partners so that Delta customers have an experience consistent with that available aboard Delta’s mainline fleet.
Delta Airline has expressed its plans for the Installations to start in January in 223 Delta Connection jets, likely to complete by end of year 2011. Once complete, customers flying on all Delta domestic flights with a First Class cabin will enjoy Wi-Fi access, including service on every Delta Shuttle flight between New York-LaGuardia and Boston, Chicago-O’Hare and Washington, D.C.
