The Egyptian National Carrier, Egypt Airways (MS) has announced to commence flights to Zambia. Zimbabwe and Zambia are tough competitors as both countries offer access to the wonder of the world, Victoria Falls. However, Zimbabwe has the advantage of a national carrier scored well in the tourism sector in 2010. The addition of Egypt Airways in the Zambian market will not only add other cheap flights to Zambia but also will promote easy access to the great Zambian Safari and Victoria Falls.
Today, the Egyptian Airline has operated its first flight to Lusaka, the capital of Zambia that landed in the country at 07:30hrs. Egypt air is the seventh airline in the world and currently operates under the name of Egypt Air (MS) as a Holding Company. It offers connectivity in Cairo, for international travellers and daily flights to Cairo leave from London Heathrow airport. From Cairo or Sharm el-Sheikh, travellers can book onward flights as well such as the newly started flights to Zambia.
According to the Zambian Union of Financial and Allied (ZUFIAW) workers, the addition of Egypt Air in the Zambian Economy is a promising beginning of the New Year and will contribute to the economic development in Zambia.
