Dubai: Emirates Airlines has just announced a reduction in baggage allowance on different ticket types of Economy Class. This policy will come in effect from February 4, 2019.
The new classification for four ticket types include Special, Saver, Flex and Flex Plus which is in regard to their respective baggage allowance policy. The travellers who would opt for Special and Saver Class will be allowed 15 kg and 25 kg each respectively. Rest of the ticket holders of Economy Class will have the privilege of enjoying the same baggage allowance, i.e. 30 kg and 35 kg each.
It is important to note that that the tickets issued before 4th of the February will be honoured the baggage allowance as per previous policy. There is no further change in the hand luggage which is to remain 7 kg, regardless of which Economy Class ticket you hold.
The new policy applies to all Emirates flight routes except those operating to and from destinations in the Americas and Africa. Passengers travelling in the Business and First Class will still get to place 40 kilograms and 50 kilograms of checked luggage respectively.
