Flights to UAE and Korea are constantly in limelight as more and more carriers are offering new routes to Korea, cheap flights to UAE or special fares as the two destinations are the new and emerging travel markets for the coming years.
The trends are changing worldwide, where the popularity and tourism graph of Fareast beaches is on the decline, destinations far away, are gaining more interest of the travellers. The reason be the political unrest or security concerns in the Far East or simply, the need for discovering something new but this year, flights to Seoul, Korea and Flights to Dubai remained top on the list of many airlines, caused new routes or airline mergers that are aimed at facilitating travellers through convenient flights and cheaper airfares.
Etihad Airways is an Abu-Dhabi (UAE) based carrier with a strong presence in Europe. The airline also operates flights from London Heathrow Airport and Manchester, UK. Etihad is a special carrier and a major provider of cheap flights to Johannesburg. The other routes of the airline include flights to Cape Town, Flights to Durban and flights to Middle East destinations.
Etihad Airways has recently stated that it will offer codeshare flights with Asiana Airlines on flights between the United Arab Emirates and South Korea. The airline has earlier expressed plans to start flights to Seoul’s Incheon airport starting from December 10, however, at this, the airline has also named its codeshare partner, Asiana Airline. Etihad is eagerly preparing for the new and exciting route that is most likely to make it easier for travellers from anywhere in Europe to book flights to Korea or the Middle East at more reasonable and cheap flight fares. Etihad Airways’ CEO, James Hogan stated at this occasion:
South Korea is a very important market for the United Arab Emirates and we are confident that this relationship will increase the flow of traffic between the two countries.
The flights ‘going to be’ operated by the two airlines between Incheon and Abu Dhabi will have both an EY (Etihad) and OZ (Asiana) code. Neither Asiana nor Etihad Airways are a member of any alliance; however, both are well-reputed airlines in the western market. The airlines will also offer reciprocal benefits to members of their frequent flyer programs in this new codeshare flight route.
The codeshare agreement between Etihad and Asiana, is also likely to expand in time across Europe, middle east, Africa and Korea, as stated by the airline.
