Recently in a Media release (Melbourne) Qantas announces an extensive renovation work has started to overhaul the interiors of Qantas nine Boeing 747-400 aircraft. This project will cost approximately about $250 million to install the sophisticated frame work of Airbus A380 style seats and inflight entertainment components.
In this announcement CEO of Qantas Airways Mr. Joyce delightfully announces that due to the high demand of luxurious interior, comfortable seats and on board flight entertainment services with enhanced features we took this step to offer are travellers a peace of mind. This renovation project has secured 120 jobs in Avalon engineering and maintenance facility on top of it 400 employees are hired to work with the faculty.
Each aircraft will take six weeks to being modified including 364 seats that is 58 Business, 36 Premium Economy and 270 Economy with Panasonic inflight entertainment system in every seat which will offer 1500 entertainment options and a self-service snack bar in Economy class.
The first renovated aircraft will begin its operation from Brisbane to Los Angeles however rest of eight aircrafts will be completed of the end of 2012 and will operate services on international routes.
