Did you ever come across unrealistically cheap fares for your destination? It is most likely to happen since we consistently look for the best online deals before finalizing our bookings. Booking involves multiple factors like airport or airline selection which ultimately determine the flight prices. However, some inexperienced travellers are usually enticed by seemingly “cheap fares” that are, in reality, too good to be true. We understand that it’s hard to resist the temptation of attractive fares. After all, who wouldn’t want to pay less and take the planned trip?
These dirt-cheap tickets are nothing more than a scam. Some fraudsters have found a way to lure travellers, with an aim of conning their money. These scams can occur in many forms such as faradulent booking sites, phishing emails and more. Our customers have recently complained about similar traps online, which they caught into, or narrowly escaped. Such as, we’ve recently become aware of a situation where individuals or entities are impersonating Travelhouseuk under the name ‘FastFly. Please note that ‘FastFly’ is NOT affiliated with us in any way. It’s our duty towards our customers to educate them and alert them to avoid any potential risks. Therefore, I’m urged to put an awareness post for our clients to save them from getting scammed. It would also make easier for you to find legitimate travel agencies in the United Kingdom.
Firstly, knowing what these scammers might look like online is essential. One of the most common practices is an advertisement post at an unbelievably low-priced flight offers from a fake website or social media account, which might appear legitimate/professional to the user; for example, we have found websites impersonating Travelhouseuk and attempting to deceive our valued customers by claiming to be affiliated with us. However, we have no subsidiary. Look at the snapshot below and have an idea how your google search might look like;
How can you identify whether you’re dealing with the official representative of Travelhouseuk? Look out for the tips to secure your financial transactions online and ensure you’re dealing with a legitimate travel agency.
- Official Website: Travelhouseuk’s only official website is Travelhouseuk.co.uk. Please visit us on the same web address for all your travel needs. Be cautious of other phishing or fraudulent websites (as shown in the pictures below) that may try to imitate our services.
- Contact Information: Our authorized contact numbers are prominently displayed on our official website. i.e Travelhouseuk.co.uk. It is to prevent customers from falling victim to potential fraud. Please make sure to contact us on these numbers; otherwise, you might end up contacting unauthorized or malicious parties claiming to be us.
- Email Address: We urge you to be vigilant about suspicious emails sent from a domain other than “@travelhouseuk.co.uk“. We only correspond from our official domain. Flight scammers may try to impersonate us via email. Please only share your personal and financial information if the email seems legit.
- Verify the Credentials: Travelhouseuk is registered and accredited by ATOL and ABTA. ATOL (Air Travel Organiser’s License) is operated by the Civil Aviation Authority in the UK. It covers your entire holiday, including the flights. ATOL protection ensures that you can continue your trip or receive a refund if your flight is disrupted. The Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA) is a trade association that represents UK travel agencies and tour operators. ABTA protection primarily focuses on the quality and service standards of travel companies by adhering to a code of conduct.
- Check Ratings and Reviews: If you’re using us for the first time, please go ahead and check our customer reviews at Trustpilot and Google . Both Google and Trustpilot are popular third-party site hosting reviews for businesses and services worldwide from genuine customers. While there’s nothing perfect in the world, consistency in positive reviews and 5-star ratings indicates how the company has been efficiently delivering its promises to date. At the same time, negative or no reviews could be signs of a red flag.
Furthermore, I would emphasize double-checking the account details before making the payments since Travelhouseuk’s ONLY official bank account is with Barclays Bank. We do not have accounts with any other financial institution. Please exercise caution while making the bookings and payments online.
If you ever doubt the authenticity of an email, call, or communication you receive, please reach out to our official customer support immediately to confirm its legitimacy. Nevertheless, your safety and security are of paramount importance to us. By staying vigilant and following these guidelines, you can help us in our efforts to combat fraudulent activity and ensure a safe and reliable travel experience for all our customers.
