Jamaica is known as the “Land of Springs”. It is a beautiful island in the Caribbean and is well known for its heavenly scenic landscapes, marvelous beaches, and a vast variety of flora and fauna. Another place that worth’s a visit is The Blue Mountains. These mountains are called Blue Mountain because the peak is always surrounded by thick mist and when you reach the top it gives you a feeling like touching the sky. These mountains rise in a so compact coastal area to the height of more than 7000 feet above sea level. Forest on this mountain holds more than eight hundred species of different plants. Papilo Homerus, the world’s second-largest butterfly is also to be found here along with more than 200 species of migratory birds. Another intrusting plant that is found only in Jamaica is the Jamaican Bamboo that flowers once in every 33 years. The Blue Mountains are also the major coffee producers in the country.
The Blue Mountains can be approached easily from the main city of Kingston. Norman Manley International Airport is just at a twenty minutes drive from the city providing services for all the flights to Jamaica, many buses and minibusses connect the nearby towns and villages to the city and you can be in touch with the locals of the area during your tour to the Blue Mountains. You can also hire a taxi but it would be expensive. There are many Hotels, Restaurants, and Guesthouses in Kingston and you can choose one that meets your requirements. When visiting Jamaica you can really touch the sky on the Blue Mountains.
