22nd June 2011 was marked a jubilant event for Oman Air when the already esteemed airline witnessed even more prestige to its name. Oman Air’s Business class seats were rendered first in the world by the World Airline Awards. The national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman was honored with the Best Business Class Seat award at a ceremony held at Paris Air Show which hosted more than 50 airlines and other big shots.
Even more celebrated than the award itself is the fact that Oman Air’s business class flights were chosen on the views of almost 20 million air passengers, surveyed by Skytrax over the past one year.
Oman Air’s Chief Executive Officer, Peter Hill, expressed his extreme pleasure at his company’s success saying, “We are delighted that Oman Air has been named as the winner in the Best Business Class Seat category of the World Airline Awards, which are the most prestigious accolades available within the global airline industry.” Moreover, while reflecting upon his airline’s business class console, he said that it offered such comfort and class that many customers tend to mix it with first class.
Oman Air’s award-winning Business Class seat offers unparalleled luxury and class within an 82-inch pitch along with a direct aisle access for all passengers which can be converted to a 77-inch long fully lie-flat bed. Moreover, all seats are stud with a 17-inch in flight entertainment screen allowing passengers to be entertained by a huge variety of movies, music and games and more visual entertainment. On the other hand the business class also offers universal power point, USB port and iPod sockets, giving them the comfort of personalizing their entertainment options by plugging in their laptops, I phones, tablet PCs or any other game consoles. Oman Airlines is well aware of its passengers’ privacy needs. Hence, retractable privacy screens, buddy seats with ample space are all manufactured within the airbus to let the passengers take full control of their personal settings.
The Airline not only concentrates on passenger services, but also stays head on with new innovations for improving its services. For instance, the airline has recently disclosed its immensely luxurious First Class and Business Class lounges at Muscat International Airport. Adding to this, the airline has just launched a new First Class lounge-to-aircraft limousine service, with a chauffeur-driven fleet of Audi A8s.
