Starting from Monday, Turkish Airline, Turkey’s national airline company has begun direct flights Toulouse in France from Istanbul to. Upon reaching the Toulouse Airport on Monday, THY’s Boeing “737-800” passenger plane was greeted with a press conference to Mark its first flight reaching French Land.
At the press conference Ihsan Gani Erbas, THY’s executive informed the reporters that Toulouse was the company’s fourth destination in France and that the company further plans to increase number of French nationals visiting Turkey by 30 percent through this two way flight service.
THY, based in Istanbuland founded in 1933, is one of the rapidly growing and promising airlines in the world with a net profit of 286 million Turkish liras (188.03 million USD) reported for 2010. The 1st quarter of 2011 marked 6.7 million passengers for the company, signaling an 8.7 percent year-on-year rise. The approximate amount of passengers which it carries annually ranges to 25 million while undertaking direct flights to 126 international and 37 domestic destinations. Initially when the company had come into being, it only had a fleet of five airplanes that carried an aggregate of 28 passengers. It was not until 1947 that the company launched its first international flight.
