Flight routes in the region between Eastern China, Korea and Japan stand obstructed with Typhoon Bolaven. South Korea receives the maximum impact from the typhoon, with the typhoon’s epicenter being existent in the Korean peninsula. The country faces its most destructive natural disaster in the last ten years. Bolaven hit its western coasts since Tuesday, covering Jeju Island and Gwanjgu city while heading to Seoul, capital of South Korea.
Airlines operating at Incheon Airport, Gimpo Airport and Jeju Airport have currently suspended their flights and are expected to continue with their schedules by Wednesday, provided that the typhoon deviates from the region.
The typhoon took form on Sunday and hit China’s Eastern District of Shanghai on Monday. As a result, China Eastern airlines cancelled 30 domestic flights and 12 international flights to South Korea and Japan. China Southern airlines followed suit with 64 and Juneyao with 14 cancellations for domestic flights.
Maritime services are deployed at sea for possible emergencies after two boats got capsized in the typhoon near China’s Eastern Coast.
