The busiest flight route for the whole month was North Atlantic which carries 71,000 more passengers than in August 2010. This major increase this year to that particular sector including even cheap flights to Montreal and Detroit were high due to the impact of Hurricane Irene.
British Airways approximately handled more than 10.7 million passengers this year in August with a boost of 0.2% from the last year. Domestic add on flights connecting Heathrow for international flights also increase by 5.5%.
