Since 1955, only terminal 5 is being used at Heathrow airport, but now after 60 years its flights will be shared by another terminal, ’Terminal 2’—from tomorrow.
United Airlines will take the lead for preceding its earliest flights from the ‘New Terminal’. On day one, Terminal 2 will operate 17 arriving and 17 departing flights carrying about 6,000 passengers. Terminal 2 is projected to be the home of 23 flights, ultimately, with 332 daily flights serving 54 destinations around the world.
The £2.5 billion projects of terminal 2 was putting up into the order after having passenger’s approval on Heathrow Airport competent services, and its rating among the top ten best airports in the world.
Nonetheless, huge budget of £11 billion has been allocated for the whole project of Heathrow Airport transformation– with the construction of multiple terminals as pipeline project.
It is said that Terminal 2 will amuse passengers with 33 world famous retailers including; high-street brands, 17 bars and bistros, and the huge cosy place to wait for flights.
John Holland-Kaye, Heathrow Development Director and Chief Executive Designate said;“Opening a new terminal is one of the most complex challenges that any airport can undertake. Our measure of success is not everything running perfectly on day one – there will inevitably be things we can improve”
