Passengers who are heading to the London Heathrow or Gatwick airport on Sunday, August 14, 2011, are advised to prepare for severe disruption as several highways will be heavily restricted or closed due to the Olympic test event. Stretches of the M25 will also be affected due to the London-Surrey Cycle Classic bike race.
According to the officials, the 140km race will start from the central London and will travel in a loop to Richmond Park, Hampton Court and Box Hill to Surrey and then back. Linking roads will remain closed for most of the Sunday.
Passengers can use the tube services as they will be operating normally. However, they may be busier than the usual routine. If you have a flight on Sunday then make sure you manage the trip to airport in time.
