Cathay Pacific introduced additional flight routes from London to Hong Kong between 17 -21 March to bring people home. Two flights are also scheduled to depart from Manchester Airport.
The flag carrier of Hong Kong, Cathay Pacific was one of those first airlines to halt operations with the onset of Covid-19. Soon after the travel industry took steps to contain the spread of Coronavirus, flights were suspended for many routes worldwide.
Hong Kong took all preventive measures to contain the outbreak including flight suspension followed by the travel ban and quarantine rules. Ultimately, the count of affected patients remained insignificantly low as compared to other countries. Not to mention, the effective remedies and the timely implementation has done wonders on its own.
The good news is that the airline has reinstated a few flights to meet the demands of homecoming passengers for Easter break.
“We understand that many Hong Kong students and citizens in North America and London are eager to come home as soon as possible and in time for the Easter break”
Cathay Pacific
The airline will conduct a flight CX250 departing from London Heathrow on 19th March 2020. In total, there are three flights from London Heathrow to Hong Kong on 19 March.
The whole scenario demonstrates that the active measures taken just in time can help lift the industry as a whole. The airline is also working closely with health regulatory to reassure the well being of passengers travelling to//from Hong Kong.
