People of no other country love partying on the beaches more than the Australians especially the Queenslanders. And they have quite good reasons for that too as some of the most gorgeous beaches of the world are on the Queensland’s shores. One has been more famous with the party freaks of the state, Adelaide’s locals in particular; it’s the beautiful Airlie Beach on the Whitsunday coast. The beach may be small as compared to some other famous beaches of Australia like the Bondi beach in Sydney but none of the other beaches can compete with Airlie for the fun it provides with its party scene and nightlife.
If you are planning a tour of Adelaide then Whitsunday island will be on your must-watch list, and no tour of this getaway island is complete without spending a couple of nights in the magnificent Airlie. The beach is not only naturally beautiful but its beauty has also been enhanced by the efforts of the local authorities who have created a marvellous artificial lagoon right on the foreshore. If you are flying from outside of the country then you will first have to take a cheap flight to Adelaide and then make the one and a half hour journey by road to reach the Airlie. As the area also acts as a camping ground for the backpackers that use this area as a launching pad for their journey into the Whitsunday Island, so the accommodation facilities here are excellent and cater to the tourists with different taste and budget.
Airlie Beach AustraliaMost of the tourist attractions are on the main Shute Harbor Rd and it is here where you will find the best restaurants, bars and clubs which are usually flocked by the tourists for most parts of the year. Most of the attractions are water-based, ranging from the cruises to the activities like snorkelling and scuba diving. Although most of the tourists prefer to take a cruise around the Whitsunday Island and the coast an adventurous few like to cruise in the wetlands of the Proserpine River as well that are infested with the largest crocodiles on the planet, the dangerous salties. These saltwater crocs can reach a maximum length of 5 meters and are considered the most dangerous kind of their species but not to worry as the company arranging for your cruise will make ample efforts for your safety, this activity may seem a little dangerous but it sure is one adventurous cruise that you won’t forget for a long time.
If the cruises and the other maritime activities start to seem boring to you after a while then take a tour of the Conway National Park that stretches on an area of 55,000 acres on the Conway Peninsula. The park is full of the lowland rainforest that is considered to be the oldest rainforest of Queensland. Archaeologists believe it to be one part of the Whitsunday Island and only became separated 10,000 years ago because of the rise in the water levels. There are a few aboriginal tribes living in the park and spending a few hours with them can provide you a deep insight into the culture of these indigenous people of Australia.
