Mount Kilimanjaro, Tanzania:
Mount Kilimanjaro is the continent’s most visited trekking destination and is also its highest peak with its summit being on at a height of 19,336 ft. With the improvement of its tourism infrastructure, the trekkers from around the world flock the mountain all around the year their numbers reached more than 20,000 visits by the tourists. Reaching the summit of the mountain will require quite a lot of skill and effort but there are many other routes that are far less difficult than the one leading to the peak and will provide you with a mind-blowing trekking experience.
The most famous of these relatively easy routes are Marangu and Rongai while the most physically demanding is Shira and Machame. If you are planning to trek to the summit then you will have to spend an average amount of around $2500 to $5000 per person. As for getting to Mount Kilimanjaro, you will first have to take a cheap flight to Dar es Salaam and then make the rest of the journey by the road.
Bale Mountain National Park, Ethiopia:
Trekking in Ethiopia has its own charm as if you are lucky enough then you can get a glimpse of some rare animal and bird species of the continent that are not available in any other African country. The most famous of the Ethiopian trekking destinations in the Bale Mountain National Park track. This 5-6 hour track within the park has quite a few routes the most famous of them all is the one heading to the gorgeous Abbey waterfall. If you are arriving in the park in the spring season then the route will be covered with beautiful flowers providing an awesome view to the trekkers. The park is only a couple of hours drive away from the capital of Ethiopia and you can easily find a cheap flight to Addis Ababa from most of the major European airports.
Lushoto-Mitae, Tanzania:
This is a comparably longer trek that takes a 3 to 5-day walk depending upon the route taken by the trekker. What is great about this trek is the chance the trekker gets to explore the real Tanzania. You will move along the cornfields of Tanzania and watch the local farmers doing their hard working daily routines and also into the pine forests that provide a great place to relax. There are quite a few hotels in the cities and villages along the track but you can also decide to camp out in the wild.
