Sydney is famous for many things, its unique lifestyle, lively nightlife, awesome shopping experience and friendly locals being a few of them. The sand and surf scene of its beaches is another of its attractions that makes thousands of tourists worldwide choose Sydney as their vacation spot. And there is no better way to explore the Sydney’s beaches than taking the 5 km stroll along the gorgeous Bondi to Coogee Cliff top that will make you understand just why the Sydneysiders love their sea and beaches.
When most people take a cheap flight to Sydney one place they don’t ever want to miss is its magnificent Bondi Beach. Along with the Sydney harbor bridge and the opera house, Bondi is one of the icons of Sydney which makes its residents proud of it. Being just a couple of miles from the city the beach is easily accessible by a short drive. This is one of the roughest beaches in the world a place where you can witness the real and awesome collision of ocean and the land. Its sand is white and the waters are clean but that’s hardly its real attraction.
Real attraction for a tourist are the locals that swarm the beaches especially on the weekends and they create quite a scene with their water sports, parties or even by laying around on the soft sand of the Bondi. Beware thou the beach is not great for the people having some body image issue as it’s an unwritten rule of the beach to wear as little as possible, bikinis being the official dress of Bondi. On the southern side of the beach you will find some great restaurants along with a swimming pool that is perfect for the kids to swim in.
Bondi is not the only beach that Sydney boasts of, head a little south and you will get to Tamarama and Bronte where the landscape is perfect with sandy cliffs and sand dunes on one side and the noise making Pacific Ocean on the other. Tamarama is a small beach if you compare it with Bondi but it is much beautiful and peaceful than its crowdie neighbor. The sand of Tamarama is bone white and there are enough deserted places on the beach that provide an awesome full body tan opportunity. Further south just a mile away you will find Bronte, a beach that is considered perfect for a family picnic and you will find quite a few of them swimming in its comparably calm waters and eating in its quite a few good quality eateries.
Another beach great for families is the Colovelley Beach that because of it being sheltered and with concrete terraces looks like more of a grand swimming pool than a beach. It provides the best snorkeling experience of all the Sydney beaches and you can find the equipment for this from most of the resorts and swimming clubs along the Colovelley area. If you head further south you will reach the wide and handsome Coogee, perhaps the largest of all the beaches in the area and with the best hotels to stay in.
