Boston may be a mid-sized city, but it has such a long history attached to it that it’s matchless anywhere in the USA, not even by the Washington D.C itself. Boston is called the cradle of liberty and rightly so as this was the city from which the movement for independence from the British colonial rule started in the country. It was also the place which ignited the American civil war and subsequently the abolition of slavery in all of the USA. The monuments built in remembrance of these events make this city worth visiting along with its magnificent architecture, attractive culture and lively nightlife.
The city was found as a safe haven by the free thinkers and liberals who were persecuted in Britain for their ideas and even today the city is one of the most forward-minded and liberal in all of America. It played a great part in the movements like abolition, feminism and transcendentalism. Being the capital of the state of Massachusetts it is also the largest city of the state and you can find a cheap flight to Boston from most of the major airports worldwide. The city is quite famous with tourists and has a good infrastructure to meet the needs of them all. You can easily find a hotel in the city which ranges from the luxurious five stars to the ones that cater to the tourists that are travelling on a budget.
The liberal and forward thinking of the Boston is evident by the city’s political standing on the controversial issues like same-sex marriages and Health care but also from the cutting edge architecture of the new Boston buildings that is innovative and attractive at the same time. The city has always attracted the imagination of the artists and today the numbers of them arriving in the city are greater than ever.
