Recife is the capital of the state of Pernambuco in Brazil. It is a major port on the Atlantic Ocean. This city is the main industrial zone of the State of Pernambuco. Some of the important products include Sugar, Ethanol, electronics and food products. Recife is the most important commercial center of the northeastern region of Brazil with a total number of business enterprises reaching up to 85000 in Recife and its Metro Area.
Recife is Brazil’s second largest medical center second only to Sao Paulo. This city has a number of modern hospitals with state of the art apparatus and tools, receiving patients not only from the city but also from the neighboring states. This city has the mostly awarded best beach in Brazil known as Porto de Galinhas. Porto de Galinhas has been awarded with the title of Brazil’s Best beach several times and this beach has drawn attention of many tourists and travelers visiting Brazil.
This city is also home to many educational institutes like the federal University of Pernambuco, Faculdade Marista do Recife, Universidade Catolitica de Pernambuco and Fauculdade Mauricio de Nassau. This city has a unique culture along with many attractive and wonderful traditions. People of Recife are very friendly as is the weather. The city is also home to “Frevo” a regional dance and music especially for the famous Carnival of Brazil. Another great attraction of the city is the Museum of Pernambuco State.
This museum dates back to 1929 and is a major attraction for tourists from allover the world with a very fine collection of more than 12000 art pieces. This city is served by Guararapes International Airport also known as Gilberto Freyre International Airport. This is a very modernized airport with the longest runways in the region serving for many international airlines having flights to Brazil as well as serves for domestic and chartered flights to Recife.
