Chilean National Museum of Fine Arts in Santiago is Chile’s and South America’s most significant museum. It is the major centre for arts not only in the country but in the entire Latin continent. The museum was established by the Artistic Union in the Latin region that was built in the nineteenth century is certainly the oldest and most elaborate museum in the larger regions of South America. The museum which was originally the Museum of painting expanded its horizon of arts and was upgraded to the museum of fine arts in the early twentieth century.
The current situation of the Chilean National Museum of Fine Arts is in the building named as Palacio de Bellas Artes that means Palace of the Fine Arts in the hub of arts and culture Parque Forestal in Santiago. The building is built in the Beaux Arts style by the renowned sculptor Jose Miguel Blanco along with the support of the Chilean states officials.
Palacio de Bellas Artes is a spectacular building that is baroque style and has a strong influence of Art Nuevo details and hints of metallic structural architecture.
