South America is blessed abundantly with natural beauty, the mountains, beaches, forests or landscapes, every thing seems to be perfectly designed and decorated for us to see and admire the wonderfulness and beauty of this world. Travel and Tourism is a significant source of income for many countries in the region like Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Bolivia, Paraguay, Uruguay and Venezuela. Nearly all top International airlines offer flights to South America. Every year the number of tourists visiting South America is increasing due to the perfect and beautiful climate, historic places, marvelous architectural sites, natural wonders, beautiful landscapes and magnificent waterfalls in the region.
Ecuador is a small yet a famous country in South America. Quito is the capital and the largest city of the nation. Located in the north central area of the country this city is the center of major political, Cultural and economic activities in the country. Quito is also the capital of Pichincha province and the second most populous city in the country. UNESCO declared that Quito has the least altered, best-preserved and largest Historic sites in Latin America. This city offers some great attractions like the Museo del Banco, Casa de la Cultura, Elmitad del Mundo, Cotopaxi National Park and Cuenca, all these places are very beautiful attracting thousands of tourists from every corner of the world.
Cathedral of Quito is the masterpiece of architecture along with Church and Convent of St. Francis.
The most amazing place in the city is “El Panecillo”, it is hill in the central west region of the city and the cause of fame for this mountain is a 135 feet tall aluminum monument of “Virgen de Quito”. This monument was first inaugurated in March 1976, and till now it is the symbolic icon of the city. This monument includes Virgin of Quito Standing on a chained snake on a globe, symbolizing her victory over the evil. This city has a well-developed public transport system including highways, railways and for aviation needs Mariscal Sucre International Airport serves the city catering international flights to Ecuador and also connecting the capital with the rest of the country.
