For wholesale items, the city houses the Olympic Market, that was reopened and upgraded in 1994 and consist of three floors. You will be ripped off and get your head shaved if you would not haggle to bargain. Gems, hand-pounded silver wares, statues and Buddhist-themed carvings are the most famous and purchases.
The most popular shopping place in the city is Street 240 that sparkles with bookstores, shops, art galleries, boutiques, cafes and high-end restaurants. Not many of the shop keepers accept credit cards, so make sure you bring some cash in wallets and hit the authenticated money changing booths to escape from any kind of fraud.
