Peru, the mysterious land of the Incas has always caught the imagination of the foreign tourists thanks to its breath taking scenic beauty and some awe inspiring archaeological marvels. Macho Picchu may be the most visited place of all the tourism attractions of Peru but one small coastal town has rose to fame lately and quite quickly as well, It’s the gorgeous Mancora with its powder like white sandy beaches that stretch for miles along the most sunny coast line of the Latin America. Mancora has the most developed tourism infrastructure of the country and that has attracted thousands of tourists from around the globe every year. Another great attraction of the town is its lively nightlife which is considered as one of the most vibrant in the continent.
There is no airport in the vicinity of the town so you will have to take a cheap flight to Quito the capital of Peru and then either you can hire a car for the rest of the journey or make it by the local transport service. You will find the country’s best hotels and resorts in the town which caters to all kind of tourists ranging from the ones that are looking for a luxurious accommodation facility to the ones trying to save some money by lodging in a cheap hotel. As the place is rising to fame with the each passing year the tourist traffic has increased many folds, that means that if you arrive in the busy season then finding a hotel in Mancora can be a little difficult so it will be a wise idea to make an advance booking either through your tour operator or at least from the Quito airport.
Mancora is located roughly halfway between Tumbas and Talara and you will get some awesome views of the Pan Americana from the town that passes right from the middle of the place. In the months of March and December the town can get a little too noisy and chaotic because of the thousands of tourist that flock it but that means a very lively nightlife as well so if you are a party freak then you will love the town in these months but if you are looking for solitude to enjoy its scenic beauty then try to avoid these two months.
There are a number of activities to indulge in, one of the tourist’s favorite is taking a mud bath in the Mancora’s hot springs that are located about 11 kilometers from the town and is easily accessible by taking a Moto taxi to it. But the main attraction of Mancora is its sand, sea and surf. You can either relax on its bone white beaches or find a deserted place and get a full body tan. If you are a surfer then this will be your paradise as it has some of the South America’s best surfs and surfing in Mancora’s waters will be a memorable experience. You can also get scuba diving or snorkeling kits from the resorts along the beach and indulge in these activities.
