Mexico – Santa Lucia River Walk

Mexico is a well-known country located in North America. It is a federation comprising of 31 states and a federal district, covering an area of about 760,000 square miles. This country is located in the Americas but is very different in its culture and traditions, Mexicans living n the rural areas and villages still follow the traditions set by there ancestors and forefathers and hence keeping alive the old culture.

Mexico is a famous tourist destination and according to the World Tourism Organization, Mexico has one of the greatest tourism industries in the world. Main attractions include marvellous beaches, historic Meso-American Ruins, beautiful cities and a Unique culture that is nowhere else to be found. Main cities include Mexico City, Guadalajara, Jalisco, Dolores Hidalgo and Monterrey.

Santa Lucia River is a very popular attraction in tourists. It is an artificial river located in the Mexican city of Monterrey also known as “Sultana del Norte”(Sultan of the North). Construction of this river started in 1996 but was completed in 2007, because for about 9 years work was stopped due to economic reasons. The Mexican President inaugurated it; it is one of the most visited and important attractions in the city. Main features of this river are that it is about 1.55 miles long and the whole river walk has free wireless Internet access. It has several fountains adding to its beauty, it also has several motorboats. This river is a must to see the place for the tourists as it gives magnificent and beautiful views and especially in the evening when the water reflects the lights it makes a quiet romantic environment around the river. Having a walk along the river with your beloved ones is something you will never forget.

Monterrey is the second most important city for the operating routes of the national airlines. This city also hosts Headquarters and operational bases for five airlines. Two airports one is Del Norte International Airport and the other is General Mariano Escobedo International Airport commonly known as Monterrey Airport serves for many flights to Mexico. As no public transport is available near the airport only a taxi service links the airport to the city.
