Plan your great outdoor adventure in Perth! The Eastern Region boasts a complete abundance of trail experiences. With everything from challenging bushwalk and cycling routes in the Perth Hill’s national parks to leisurely walks right along the Swan riverbanks. Even your bike is destined to get plenty of action here.
The Western side has many different ‘nearer to civilization’ routes that even take you out for an encouraging bike ride along the Fremantle Port. Or you can always take a drive out to visit the scenic vineyards for some fine tasting accompanied with scrumptious food. So pack your things and get on the next cheap flight to Perth for an outdoor experience you wouldn’t want to miss!
Munda Biddi Trail: This trail starts at Mundaring and after continuing through Collie it will extend all the way till Albany and goes approximately 900 km up. The name Munda Biddi literally means “path through the forest” and hence it lives up its name and provides excellent foliage cover for all bikers and hikers. You will even find many different bike rental and repair shops along the path along with small camouflaged watering holes for rest and filling up on snack packs and water bottles.
Swan River Trails: If you are looking for a trail with more sunshine and relaxation then take a ride or walk around the beautiful Swan River. This trail starts from Barrack St. Jetty and goes all the way around the Swan River. The scenic and relaxation routes start from Applecross and Alfred Cove and go through the Mosman Park but if this sounds too cruise-like to you and you want a more adrenaline pumping action then we recommend that you sign-up and join in the Strong Rider’s group that departs every Saturday morning at 6:30 am for a hard-riding and high-speed river circuit of 75 km.
Bibbulmun Track: This trekking route is 963km long and starts from Kalamunda and ends at Albany. If you consider trekking the entire Bibbulmun Track then you will need to keep several spare weeks. You will get to go through the magnificent Jarrah and Marri forests and walk along the coast of Albany. The spectacular views of the coastlines and including carpets of wildflowers and rugged granite outcrops this trekking route is worth your time. Many of the campsites contain fire pits, shelters, toilets, and even water tanks.
Cape-to-Cape Trek: This route goes between Capes Naturaliste and Leeuwin. The trek requires good stamina and spare time to get the most out of it. You get to experience sand dunes, heathland and forests on this trek. Your views will contain the occasional sightings of kangaroos, and beautiful endemic wildflowers and unique rock formations.
