One wonders why Beirut is called the Paris of the east as there is neither a structure as magnificent as Eifel tower there nor is there some place as enjoyable as Shanz Elize. The most impressive of them all are the old mosques and churches that are there for more than 5 centuries now and you will still find them flocked with the worshipers. Beirut was also the greatest promoter of arts in the region and the marvelous pieces of arts in its galleries is evident to it. The locals of Beirut are some of the friendliest that you will ever find, they will always greet you with a wide smile on their faces and it is a custom in Lebanon to offer tea to the tourists.
