The Honeymoon Capital of the World, Niagara Falls

When you are looking for a place to spend your honeymoon at, there is this one place that is always in your priority list. It’s the honeymoon capital of the world, the Magnificent Niagara Falls. Just the majesty and the grandeur of these falls have inspired the imaginations of tourists worldwide for more than a century. The sight of the falls, especially after the dark when they are illuminated is truly mesmerizing. Although the falls are on the border of USA and Canada the perfect vantage points to see the park are on the Canadian side so it will be a better idea to get a cheap flight to Toronto which is only one and a half hour drive from the Niagara Falls.

If you are already in some other part of Canada then you can also take a flight to Hamilton airport that is just 30 minutes from the falls. Even if you are in the United States then a flight to Buffalo airport of New York can make you 45 minutes drive away from the best vantage points of the Canadian side of the Niagara Falls. Most people prefer to first head to the Queens Victoria Park which provides the most awesome view of the whole falls and the scene is made especially memorable at the night time as the falls begin to get illuminated.

For observing the beauty of the falls up close take a 30-minute ride on a boat that will take you to the foot of the falls providing a great experience. Boats leave every fifteen minutes from the Niagara Parkway, the queues of the people waiting for the boats can get a little too long for your liking in the later part of the day so it will be a good idea to take the ride in the morning or no later than the afternoon. Two things to keep in mind while making this short journey, get a waterproof coat as the water bouncing off the rocks can get you all wet and secondly don’t take your precious digital camera with you as it will be ruined by the water, instead get the cheap disposable cameras from the stores on the Niagara Parkway.

Another famous attraction is the watching and feeling the spray of the falls from behind the potholes for which you will have to pay a fee of 15 dollars. There is a cable car ride that moves right on the top of the falls providing a great birds-eye view of the surroundings. But perhaps the best view is provided by the Sky deck of the Skylon Tower which also has the best revolving restaurants in the falls area. The Marine land theme park has also become a famous tourist attraction of the park in recent years with the shows that involve dolphins, sea lions, killer whales and the black bears. There are a lot of hotels in the area that caters to the tourists ranging from the ones looking for luxury accommodation to the ones that are travelling on a budget.
