USA has some of the world’s largest and most magnificent national parks and perhaps that’s the reason why while you find a lot of Europeans in the national parks of Africa there are not many Americans around there. And if you have visited some of the most famous national parks of USA you will understand just why Americans don’t need to travel to other countries for enjoying the scenic beauty or observing the exotic wildlife.
Yellowstone National Park of USA is the country’s oldest national park and has the highest concentration of some unique animal species. The major part of this gorgeous national park that spans on an area of 3,092 sq. miles is located in the state of Wyoming but some parts of the park also stretch into the neighboring states. The main attraction of Yellowstone is its unique wildlife, and when I say unique I mean it because in no other park you will find such a huge numbers of grizzly bears, bison, elks and pronghorns.
Wildlife is not the only attraction of this massive park; the scenic beauty is also what attracts thousands of tourists towards it. Roaring rivers, majestic mountains and soaring geysers create such mesmerizing atmosphere that a visit to Yellowstone remains in the memories of the visitors for a very long time. Yellowstone has its own airport that is well connected with the rest of the regional airports but if you are arriving from abroad then you will have to get a Cheap flight to Denver the largest international airport in the area. There are quite a few resorts in the area that can provide you with quality services but they can get a little too expensive during the holiday season as Yellowstone is one of the favorite summer retreats of Americans. Many tourists prefer to camp out in wild than staying in a resort as it provides a great sight seeing experience.
During the late 19th century and early 20th century the excessive hunting of bison, elks and grizzly bears made their numbers diminish exponentially. Yellowstone Park was an effort put by the authorities to save these endangered species and their success is evident because of the large herds of bison and elks grazing in the grasslands of Yellowstone. According to the current estimates there are 4000 bison and 30,000 elks in the park and watching them in the stunning landscape of the park will surely provide you with a game viewing experience you won’t be able to forget for long. The best way to explore the park is by doing it in the company of the park ranger who will know where to find the highest concentration of the animals.
Yellowstone is also famous with hikers and trekkers as there are numerous mountain trails in park that pass along the gorgeous rivers and geysers. Talking about the geysers Yellowstone has more than half of the geysers and hot springs of the world so you can find one in almost every part of the park.
