Egypt being the land that gave birth to the first great civilization of the world needs little introduction. With its pyramids, the minarets and the Nile – the view of Egypt is magnificent.
You’ll be surprised to discover that those famous pyramids that have become the symbol of the country’s tourism are merely the tip of the archaeological iceberg that Egypt has. Nations from the Age of Pharaohs, ancient Greeks, Romans and Arab dynasties have all played their part in making up Egypt’s rich architectural wealth.
Cairo still reminds you of its medieval founding years in the early days of Islam, its chaos whirrs around its medieval core. Luxor, the famous archaeological site of Thebes is lined with opulent burial chambers and boasts some of the most formidable monuments in all of the human history. Further south at Aswan, you will find even more imposing geometrical pyramids which give an insight into the power of the pharaohs of Egypt. At Aswan you have a chance of exploring Nile in ancient sail called Felucca Floating with the currents and winds.
Egypt’s ocean of sand stretches infinitely to the Sahara on the west; you will find a handful of oases feeding solitary islands of green. To the east lie the deep, crystal waters of the Red Sea brilliantly awash in coral, surrounded by exotic underwater life. If you visit the interior of Sinai, you can climb the mountain where god spoke to Moses.
There is some political unrest in the region and Egypt with the new government taking over the country after a long struggle by the people of Egypt. Still, there have been no reported cases where any foreign visitors making the journey here were targeted. So book yourself a direct flight to Cairo or Sharm al Sheikh and have a nice vacation in the land of Pharaohs.
