South Africa has everything that one may expect from a perfect holiday. It’s warm, it’s sunny, you have a lot of options there. Like you can go to Islands, explore beaches, or experience wildlife Safari, bird watching, museums, zoo, castles, forts, historic sites, megastructures, stadiums… in a nutshell, there is literally every attraction you can think you. And, to make things even better you can book a stay in well-known hotels and international chains. Also, its safe for western tourists and the Government takes good care to keep it that way. Also, there are many cheap flights to Johannesburg, the capital of South Africa and also, one can book indirect flights to Cape Town the most visited destination in South Africa.
Transportation within the country is also efficient and interconnected flights to Durban, Pretoria, Bloemfontein and other cities or regional destinations can be booked from anywhere in South Africa.
Cape Town, is one of the busiest South African cities mainly because of its popular beaches and out of the world water sports such as swimming with the whales and the cage diving with sharks…these adrenaline-pumping sports are hard to find anywhere else in the world. But if you are on a family vacation, honeymoon or if you are in love with ‘happy feet’ penguins, Boulders Beach is your place to be.
Located in the Cape Peninsula, near Simon’s Town towards Cape Point, Boulders Beach is a stunning penguin watching the sheltered beach and forms part of the Table Mountain National Park. It is called ‘Boulders beach’ by dint of the ‘granite boulders’ providing shelter to the beach and its cute inhabitants. Other than scenic views what makes it a special place is that there are no restrictions about going close to the Penguins. You can have as many photos with these amazing creates as you like and make your kids happy.
However, touching a penguin is not a good idea because these creatures have really strong beaks, sharp as a razor to use in their defence and if aggravated, they can tear off nose, ears or fingers easily. Plus feeding the penguins is not allowed. However, swimming is permitted in the warm false bay waters close to boulders beach but humans are restricted to swim at the boulders beach for their and the animal’s safety.
This African Penguin colony settled here in 1982 and has grown to about 3000 of them just from two breeding pairs brought to the country in 82. It is here that this vulnerable bird can be observed at close range, wandering, mating and playing freely in a protected natural environment.
Its once in a lifetime experience, that only South Africa offers.
