Sapporo Snow Festival, one of the biggest snow festivals of its kind in Japan, has become a charmer of more than two million visitors all across the world, every year. Hokkaido greets the visitors, with splashing winter offer; a spectacular snow festival for seven consecutive days from Feb. 5th – Feb. 11th, 2014.

Started back in 1950’s, by some students Sapporo festival grew enormous popularity in and around the Japan, later joined by self-defense force, which put its lion’s share with gigantic snow sculptures to make the event into an ultimate carnival; where visitors get in not only to enjoy the snowfall but also make sculptures and immerse in flurry activities. Such a humble beginning led the Sapporo festival towards an international snow festival.
There are prime avenues for the unlimited entertainment: main site–Odori park, emblazed with an array of all size s of sculptures, carry certain renowned theme; Tsu Dome, which boasts snow rafting, slide shows, and bountiful activities for families.
Night brings an entire drama when all illuminated sculptures reflect magical spectrum; tints and shades create a magical charisma of snow and turn Hokkaido’s into a wonderland at once.
To provide visitors with another dimension of entertainment; capturing a fine view of Odori Park from Sapporo TV towers also becoming popular as a parallel activity. Native cuisines of Hokkaido can be enjoyed along with stage performance right on the ice sculptures.
