Image by; olympic.org Paris celebrates the award for hosting Olympic 2024 as the International Olympic Committee approved its Olympic Bid. Moreover, summer games in 2028 will be held at Los Angeles as per the approved bid.
Luckily, Olympic 2024 in the French Capital will mark the 100 years before it was last hosted in Paris.
Previously, Los Angeles hosted the summer games in 1932 and 1984 and now it will be playing the same role after 30 years in 2028.
Hamburg, Rome, Budapest also participated in the bid but backed out due to increasing costs. This left only Paris and Los Angeles competing at the end.
The significant celebrations include the wheeling of iconic Olympic rings in front of Eiffel Tower, Paris while Los Angeles lit up its most popular landmarks in the anticipation of upcoming Olympic Games.
While talking to a media person, IOC president, Thomas Bach said;
“Congratulations to Paris 2024 and Los Angeles 2028! This historic double allocation is a ‘win-win-win’ situation for the city of Paris, the city of Los Angeles and the IOC. These are two great cities from two great countries with a great Olympic history”
He further added; “Both cities are very enthusiastic about the Games and are promoting the Olympic spirit in a fantastic way”
