Offerings of snacks, fruits and vegetables to be made to local Macaque Monkeys as a religious ritual at the Phra Prang Sam Yot Temple. The Monkey Buffet Festival is held in honour of paying homage to the credit played by the monkeys in attracting tourism within the community of Lopburi, a small province located in the Northern outskirts of Cheap Flights Bangkok.
The habitat of monkeys consists of a wild population in excess of 2000 in numbers and has a large dwelling in the wilderness of ruins of the ancient Phra Prang Sam Yot Temple. The temple is intact from the reign of the Narai Kingdom and is completely designed with Buddhist heritage and art. The festival is organized at the central corridor as well as the entrance of the temple linking the 3 prangs or stupas of each side.

The festival is always held on the 3rd Thursday of October, which is the 21st of October in 2013. Tables are decorated and set with all the exotic food and dishes, prepared in the same fashion as if being prepared for customers. Fresh fruit cocktails, vegetables, iced juices and jellies are assorted among platters. Mountain piles of fruit are also arranged, so that monkeys may avail the feat in any way possible.
Iced cases of juices along with soda cans are also included as beverages. With major resorts and hotels pitching in the responsibility, professional chefs are seen preparing fruit salads and arrangements on the occasion. Entire swarms of families of monkeys are witnessed to attend, and with these animals being comfortable around humans, visitors can easily approach nearer to capture photographs or witness it at a closer angle. The ample food even allows the monkeys to engage in regular food throwing fights, while they attract a lot of attention to visitors attending the festival.
