Brazil is the largest country in South America. 1. Personal safety should be your first preference.
2. Avoid walking in dark places or streets in the night, as there is a risk of being held-up.
3. Don’t leave any of your belongings unattended at beaches and other places as they might be stolen or lost.
4. Try to avoid wearing gems, rings, jewellery and expensive watches as they might attract any criminal for robbery.
5. Do not act like a stranger or tourist.
6. Use photocopies of your documents like ID and passport instead of originals.
7. Put your money essential documents and expensive belongings in the hotel safes.
8. You can ask for guidance to your hotels front desk or reception about other precautions if needed.
9. Avoid talking to strangers and also unlicensed transport (taxis)
