Long flights can get challenging especially when they are more than 6 hour long. In case of flights longer than 6 hours it is always a great idea to take an indirect flight with some transit time. It sounds a bit hard but on longer flights transit time is a relief. You can get out of plan on the airport and go out to relax a little and get some fresh air.
You can find food of your choice on the airport and get some drinks, tea or coffee and get refreshed in the lounge and visit the duty free area. But if you are stuck on a long flight and there is no transit available then here are a few travel tips for you to stay comfortable on board.
Get a good sleep:
Most of us are of an idea that we will go to sleep when in the flight. Well if you are lucky enough that you can sleep onboard it might be a good idea but most of the people find it very hard to fall asleep when in the plane and if you are sleep deprived previously then this can get you in a very annoying and uncomfortable state. So when you are going for long flights, get a good sleep so that you are not tired from the beginning.
Wear comfortable clothes:
When headed for long flights, always wear something that is loose and something that you are comfortable in. For example wear sandals that you can take off when you are in your seat instead of boots. Even if you need to dress up right after your flight lands, try changing on the airport instead of wearing uncomfortable clothes on flight.
Keep book or movies:
It is always a good idea to keep a book which you are reading or which you want to read with you on the flight. It helps in keeping you busy and is a good time pass. You can also keep your laptop charged so that you can watch movie on board or some other show of your choice. many airlines offer screen service which will allow you to enjoy many movies and seasons when you are flying so they will help you pass your time on a long flight.
Enjoy flight service:
Most airlines offer good flight service on board, especially on long flights. Take full advantage of them. Get your tea, coffee or juice whichever you like. Also enjoy the meal so that you are not hungry or exhausted by the time your flight lands.
Use your space:
Your seat has enough space for you to relax in the aeroplane. Stretch your legs and arms after few hours and move your feet in your seat. You can relax a little more by tilting your seat back. Close your eyes and relax. Even if you don’t sleep, this will help your body relax.
Use these small tips and make your long flights less strenuous. They will definitely come in handy. Happy flying!
