For most of us long flights are nothing less than a nightmare. What many people hate about long flights is the thought of being stuck in a sitting position for so many plenties of hours! The thought itself is unnerving. But there are a few ways in which you can make your long uncomfortable flight an easier one. Let us guide you through a few tips that you can keep in mind when you are planning to travel to long distances by air. These tips will help you stay easy and comparatively comfortable on board.
What you wear really matters!
It is weird to see people dressed up fully and all formally when they are off for a 14-hour flight! No, please don’t do that to yourself because this adds to the discomfort. Dress casually and wear whatever keeps you most comfortable like you can wear a pair of jeans with a comfortable t-shirt or pull over. Go for a little loose fitted clothing so that you don’t feel all stuck. Clothing really matters in your body comfort.
If you are dressed comfortably, you can stay relaxed or a much longer period of time especially on board. Also wear shoes that you can easily take off so that you can rest your feet and relax them too as you take a nap. Go for sandals or slippers because they are easier to take off and wear again.
Keep a good pillow with you
Always keep a small pillow or a cushion with you so that you can rest up on it. Many of us get accustomed to using a similar sized pillow and cushion and if you have this with you then you can sleep easily during your flight. A good and comfortable pillow also helps you to avoid neck and back pains.
Eat properly before your flight
Always eat a proper meal a few hours before your flight so that your body has enough energy to manage all those flight hours however before takeoff take lights snacks and don’t go for heavy meals because they might cause nausea. Also maintain a good water intake before and during the flight. Don’t hesitate to ask flight staff to get you water or tea/ coffee because all of these help you in staying fresh and ease your body.
Limit Alcohol intake
Taking in too much alcohol is never a good idea especially before your flight. This is because taking high quantities of alcohol will make your body slow and less responsive and will cause you a lot of discomfort as you fly through the long flight hours.
Adjust your watch as soon as you land
This is very important. Always be careful about adjusting your watch whether you land as a transit passenger or on your arrival destination because it will help you keep track of time according to the time zone. With all these tips and precautions you can ease the discomfort of your long flight hours. We hope that these will be of help for you as you set out for your amazing holidays across the globe.
