Excited about the much awaited month of Ramadan? So are we and to make sure that your travelling needs are all catered to during this month, we’re here to offer some free of cost, friendly tips. These will ensure that even whilst fasting, you have an epic experience and some quality fun;
Expect and accept hospitality: now this is one thing that you must know especially if you’re visiting one of the Muslim countries, be it Egypt, Tunisia, Jordan or the UAE. People in this area of the world are very generous and may offer you some delightful welcoming Ramadan sweets or invite you to a feast. Our suggestion to you would be to accept it and have a good time. It is guaranteed that the food will taste divine and the pleasant company will keep you occupied. You will also not have to worry about not having enough to eat for iftar or sehri.
Let the spirit of Ramadan brace your soul: it is undoubtedly a known fact that Muslims are exempt from fasting whilst travelling and that is indeed a convenient habit which we suggest you adopt. However, if visiting a Muslim country it is recommended to respect their culture and not publically eat or drink. Eating or drinking in the privacy of your hotel room is a rather good idea.
Make the most of sehri and iftar time: whilst we all wish our metabolism was somewhat like that of a camel during the month of Ramadan, so as to store whatever we eat, that is unfortunately impossible. Therefore one must make the most of sehri time and stuff yourself to the best of your abilities, especially with fluids and water to cater to your thirst which might be a problem while fasting. Eating two or three dates at the time of sehri will help keep your sugar levels up and you might happily survive to eat away your appetite till iftar. The time between iftar and sehri must also be wisely used to enjoy the most tempting of treats.
Eat smart: we all know that during Ramadan, one only has a limited time period to eat in and doing so whilst travelling can be a tiring combination. That is why you must EAT SMART! This means that instead of wasting your appetite on junk food, you should include healthy things in your diet such as a banana, which fulfils all your nutrient requirements for a day and dates which helps keep your sugar levels up. Be smart enough to drink healthy fruit juices and lemonade to keep you fresh and energetic.
Stack your handbags with some treats: now this tip might come in handy if you’re travelling and are far away from your hotel or any restaurant at the time of iftar. If so, you can simply take out some treats, juices or water from your handbags and help yourselves break your fast. This way there will be no interruptions in your plans and you will also have catered to your wagging appetite.
These tips are indeed easy to follow and very important to abide by if what you want is an overall fun vacation and some fasting during it. Have fun and happy fasting!
