With celebrations to have started off over the month of April, IATA has been holding anniversary events across its 50 international offices spread all over the globe. The main limelight is one the upcoming Annual General Meeting due to be held from the 7th to 9th of June in Miami, USA.
The organization has taken the opportunity to highlight its role in fostering the global aviation industry for benefiting the worldwide community in general, boosting passenger traffic as well as air cargo traffic to give a strong support to the global economy in terms of commerce as well as tourism. The Annual General Meeting will chair the heads of numerous commercial airlines which are members of IATA, with the last one held in Doha,Qatar.
On the occasion of establishing its emerging goals for its 70th anniversary, IATA aims for strengthening aviation security, particularly live flight tracking technology, commercial aviation profitability and improve collaboration of global air carriers hailing from different regions. The organization, releasing its new slogan of “Flying Better, Together” coordinates with multiple aviation authorities, governments as well as airport administrations for flight safety, addressing passenger market concerns and introducing new technology while taking on board the commercial aircraft manufacturing industry. The anniversary celebrations are also marked with new certifications and partnerships with regional aviation operation organizations as well as flight training organizations in Europe.

Back in 1945, IATA started off with 57 member airlines founding its establishment in Havana, Cuba. The organization then established its official headquarters in Montreal, Canada, and today numbers with about 250 member airlines worldwide.
