Jakarta is steeped in rich cultural heritage of Dutch period and features plenty of traditional relics and interesting architectures. The East Timor pavilion has now been transformed to a museum and many new museums are still being constructed. There is a beautiful lake that juts resembles the Indonesian archipelago and you can opt for cable car that travels above the encircling areas. (The most amazing and jaw dropping photos can be captured). It also houses almost 10 parks and gardens that include a reptile park (famous for Komodo dragon up close), a medicinal herb garden, a freshwater aquarium and a bird park. A Chinese Indonesian culture park is still under construction.
You can also visit museums-there are 14 in total and display a wide agglomeration of tempting and artistic objects. The common ones are the Asmat museum (showcases the Asmat people in their traditions and Papua), the oil and gas museum, and the heirloom museum. There lies 6 different houses of worship that include a Hindu temple, a Buddhist temple, a mosque and two churches. They all represent distinctive religions of Indonesia and another Confucian temple is under construction.
You can also see movies as there are 3 theatres, one of them is IMAX. The park boasts of several enjoyable and entertaining activities for children and families like a kiddy rides park, a handicrafts market, a fishing pond, swan boats on the Indonesian Archipelago Lake and the Snow Bay Water Park. You will love to tickle your taste buds with an excellent variety of food at various restaurants and eateries of Taman Mini (the popular ones are Tiban Market, Pecel Madiun, Pondok and the Puri Caping Gunung restaurant).
