You must have visited many stunning ancient places but the charisma related to the magical history of Amman is unmatchable. It is the largest and the capital city of Jordon, which is a combination of old civilization and modern life and also a renowned cultural, political and commercial centre of the world. The hill of Citadel is located in the centre of Amman which has its history dated back to 1800 BC to Byzantine and Roman era. The biggest temptation here is the Great Temple of Hercules that was constructed from 162-166 AD during the rule of Emperor Marcus Aurelius and is very much like the Temple of Artemis located in Ephesus. Apart from them there lies the famous Umayyad Palace also known as Al-Qasar which is simply impressive and awesome with a doomed entrance and was built in Muslim’s Umayyad period of 8th century. Exactly to the right of the entrance hall, a large Cistern is situated which was the source of water supply to the Palace. With the radius of 8 metres and depth of 5 metres it would definitely have kept the water quantity equivalent to 250,000 gallons.

Amman’s climate is pleasantly moderate with dry and hot summers but cool evenings, making temperature comfortable. The best time to visit this city is the spring season when the weather is little hot with very less rainfall as compared to the abundant and heavy rainfalls of winters.
