Sea inspires the imagination of all of us; its vastness, its beauty and the sense of mystery that what is underneath its surface always attract us. And what is a better idea to explore the sea than by scuba diving to its depth and observing the hidden treasures of it from close by. Talking about Scuba Diving, there is a place in Florida that has become the center of attention of divers around the world, it’s the Key Largo approximately 100 miles from Miami. Its clear waters, exotic marine life and the supposedly limitless ship wrecks in the area make it a dreamland for the scuba divers.
Another thing that makes this place so great is its proximity to other attractions, take Miami for example, its only 100 miles from the Key and it should not take you more than one and half hour drive to get there. If you are traveling from outside the USA then try to find your self a cheap flight to Miami and make the rest of the journey by hiring a car from the airport or the hotel that you plan to stay in Miami.
Key Largo is famous with all kinds of divers, ranging from the absolute beginners to the expert Pros. If you are new to Scuba Diving then try to stay in the shallow waters just close to the coast and in the presence of a trained life guard you’ll be just fine. There will be enough fish and other marine life along the shore to satisfy your appetite for scuba diving. If you are an expert then what Key Largo can offer you is an awesome dive into its depths for exploring the tens of ship wrecks in the area. The most famous of them all and a must see if you are an expert is the ship wreck of USS Spiegel Grove, which is a gigantic US naval ship that is 551 ft long. Located on the western part of the Key Largo, it will require you to hire a boat from the one of the many resorts in the area for getting to it. Exploring this huge ship will be an awesome experience and will surely test your skills as a diver as well providing you with an achievement that you can be proud of.
But diving is not the only attraction of Key Largo, it’s just a small chunk of what you can do here. To start with as you will be in Florida so the beach will be sandy and white perfect for a complete body tan or just lying there relaxing. The famous John Pennekemp National Park is just south of Key Largo and was the first underwater national park in US. It is considered as the most beautiful and stunning of all the underwater parks. The vibrant nightlife of the Key Largo is another of its major attraction; there are many bars and nightclubs along the beach that will provide you with some of the most memorable moments of your life. There are many hotels in the area that caters to all kind of tourists, ranging from the ones looking for luxury accommodation to the ones that are on a budget. Try to spend at least 1 night here to do justice to this beautiful place.
