Uluru Ayers Rock is one of the few natural wonders of the world. Due to its unique shape, red earth, accessible hiking tracks and desert safari options, people travel here from all over the world by taking flights to Ayers Rock to enjoy the natural beauty and relax in the numerous oasis styled luxury spas and resorts.
It is based within Australia’s Red Center and is a semi arid generally very hot and dry dessert this means you have to be careful as to what all you pack. This dessert is different from most desserts and has seasonal changes. The nights can become pretty cold in the winter.
The best time to come and see this huge monolith are during autumn and spring as the temperatures are moderate and lie between the 30s and 20s throughout the day and night. But this doesn’t mean you cant come in the inter or summer as well as the cold or heat will only get to you during our outdoor excursions and you can always come back to cool off and heat up at the resort when you are done.
The essentials you will need at any time of the year while visiting include the basics all year around like sun-block of at least SPF 30 (60+ if it’s the summer)., mosquito repellent, moisturizers, and Kleenex to wipe away the grime. Make sure you have ample water supply as the hike is long and it is impossible if you do not have enough water. As far as clothing are concerned you can wear t-shirts and shorts in the summer but make sure you have socks and proper hiking shoes on and not sandals as there are plenty of thorny bushes and poisonous blue spiders that can bite. But the rest of the year around you will always need a hat to keep your head out of the sun, and full sleeved clothes are preferable even in the summer due to bugs and dust etc.
Make sure you seal your bags properly as the dessert is very dusty. And an ample supply of zip-locks to keep your toiletries clean, camera lens protected and even your passports dry and clean as the dessert is one messy place. And do not fear of bringing your cell phones as cell reception is good atop the rock for most service providers. Even if you are not into photography, cameras are must as the views are simply fantastic especially at sunset.
At your stop over at Alice Springs you can either bring your own camping gear or contact several car rentals that even provide all forms of camping gear and cooking equipment. If you plan on staying overnight then remember to bring warm clothing and ample bedding. Also mosquito nets are a must even though you will be provided with some by the camp rentals. Swimming gear is also important as Alice Springs is very tempting to take a dip in especially in the summer. This also makes beach towels, flip flops and other accessories important as well.
So plan ahead and pack-up well for your trip to this amazing natural wonder. Ayers Rock has something for everyone. Resorts to relax in and plenty of thrill seeking activities for the adventure enthusiasts. We assure you that you will not be disappointed by your trip.
