Jamaica is an island nation situated in the Caribbean and very well famous for tourism. Sunny and shining beaches, Spectacular landscapes, warm tropical breezes and very unique and attractive cultural heritage are the qualities attracting people towards Jamaica. Saint Elizabeth is one of Jamaica’s largest rural communities; located in the southwest of the island Black River is the capital. And is well known for being located at the mouth of one of the longest rivers in the country also known as the Black River. This river is named black river due to the dark colored riverbed, which is dark due to the decomposing vegetation on the banks. This river is about 33 miles long, on its way this river passes through many cities and towns like Maggoty, Apple Valley Park and Newtown. This river is home to many species of fishes and is famous for its Cray fish.
In lower regions the shallow waters of the river and marshlands and swamps provide a rich ecological environment for a variety of fish, birds and other creatures.
Many waterfalls add to the beauty of Black River. One of them is the Ys Falls, which is considered as one of the finest natural attractions in Jamaica, and the number of annual visitors has increased rapidly in the past few years. St Elizabeth has many other attractions like the Treasure beach area and the Apple rum distillery is also a popular tourist destination.
Jamaica is a fine place to spend holidays, either with your family or friends with many attractions as fine beaches, Dunn’s River falls, Kingston city, Montego Bay and much more of the finest places for spending some quality time and having fun and adventure.
