The national parks of South Africa are attracting more and more tourists towards them with each passing year changing the outlook of the country’s tourism industry that used to only use its metropolises like Cape Town and Johannesburg to attract the tourist traffic. Kruger National park which is one of the largest in the continent is arguably the most gorgeous showpiece of the country’s wildlife tourism industry. In its lush savannah that stretches for miles, thousands of animals of different species graze, prey and thrive making it a perfect place for a memorable safari experience.

With its stunning landscape and scenic beauty even without its exotic wildlife, the park is worth visiting. What makes it even more special than the rest of the great national parks of the continent is the fact that it has the best tourism infrastructure of them all with some world-class resorts and tourist facilities.
The park is easily accessible because of its vicinity to the Johannesburg the largest South Africa metropolis. You can get a cheap flight to Johannesburg from most of the major European cities and there are plenty of tour operators in the city that can arrange a tour to the park for you which can be a rather cheaper way of exploring the park than hiring a car for getting there and then exploring it. Most of the park is easily accessible because of well maintained paved roads but the northern part of the park which consists of rigid mountainous terrain is only accessible on a 4wd which can be hired from the park’s rangers.
You can also hire the services of a seasoned park ranger to provide you with the guided tour of the park; this will have two benefits as he will know where to find the highest concentration of the wildlife in the park as well as will know what to do in case you come across an unexpected danger.
The biggest attraction of the park is its wildlife which includes all the Big Five of the African animals. The lush savannah of Kruger is a perfect breeding ground for zebras, wildebeest, buffalos, antelopes and giraffes that graze here as well as for the lions, leopards, hyenas and other predators that prey on them. Kruger also has a high concentration of elephants in its wilderness and their high numbers mean that it will be impossible for a visitor to miss out on them during even a short safari.
The park is open for the tourists all around the year but the place gets really flocked with the visitors during the school vacations as a lot of South African parents like to take their children for a vacation in the park, so if you don’t like crowdie national parks then you should avoid traveling in this part of the year. There are a number of resorts within and just outside the park that provides ample lodging facilities but if you feel like it then you can always camp out in the wild.
