Well, there must be something special about Seychelles, otherwise, the newlywed Prince William and Kate Middleton would not have preferred it on all others as their honeymoon destination. Now of course not all of us can afford a 5000 GBP per night resort like the royal couple but Seychelles has something for everyone.
Officially called The Republic of Seychelles, it’s an otherworldly archipelago of 115 islands in the Indian Ocean, with magnificent white sandy beaches, crystal clear waters, lush hills and a really friendly local populace. Let it be a vacation with your whole family, your honeymoon or just a lonely backpack stroll you will surely enjoy your stay at Seychelles.
Seychelles has three main Islands, Praslin, La Digue and Mahe. Mahe is the main island with the country’s capital Victoria and its international airport. So it will be Mahe where you will be landing first. There are a lot of places that may attract you in Mahe. The island of Mahe is roughly 17 miles long and only two to five miles wide. The highest point is Morne Seychellois, at about 2,969 feet. Beau Vallon with its gorgeous white sands is a great beach to visit here and is found on the Northwest part of Mahe.
The most common practice after taking cheap flights to Seychelles and of which you will find yourself addicted to is island hopping. Meaning you can take a boat or to some islands a plane and go to a more remote island and discover their majestic beauty.
The other main island is Praslin, it’s the perfect tropical island since it’ has not yet lost its natural beauty because of over-development but has some tourism activity for visitors. The environment and topography are lush, green, and picture-perfect tropical island vegetation and scenery. The overall flavour of the island’s culture is peaceful and relaxed, so if you are looking for a place to get your mind off the daily hectic routine Praslin is the place to go.
La Digue is situated only a couple of miles away from Praslin, it’s the third main island of Seychelles. There are water taxis available that can take you from Praslin to La Digue. Keep in mind when going to La Digue do not forget to take your camera with you! The scenery is truly worth capturing in your lens. The beautiful beach features giant boulders on its shores. The scene is truly amazing, with dark granite boulders on the white sand beach, a fairy tale like vision, one could imagine for a beach setting.
So if you’re planning for a vacation, take flights to Seychelles as it can be a really good choice, at least the Royal couple thinks so.
