Lotte World was inaugurated in 1989 and grabbed the attention of the world with its alluring and wizardly themes which are the Adventure theme- with which the interior of the building is beautified and the other one is Magical Island that is the exterior side, located very close to Seokchonhosu Lake. Once you pop inside you will find various distinctive regions, representing the countries of the world with souvenir shops and other entertaining facilities. The fascinating laser shows, various interesting films, mouth-watering cuisines and the eye-catchy parades will leave you in awe.
The outside area is even more alluring due to its high-altitude frantic rides. Get ready to reach the height of 70 metres and you will immediately be dropped back to the ground in Gyro Drop ride or have the all-encompassing excitement at the thrilling Gyro Swing. Besides, the Flume Ride, Atlantis Adventure and the Spanish Pirate Ship also offer you endless fun. The amusement park provides rides for all the age groups ranging from the furious roller coasters to the soothing tram rides.
After having an adventure at the rides, don’t miss the Ice Rink for skating, where the pleasant and cool atmosphere is highly pleasurable for the couples and the families. Another striking feature of the Magical Island is the Fairy-Tale Castle which will take you to an imaginary world.
The Lotte World also houses a Folk Museum where you will experience Korea’s culture and history in the form of miniatures. It also provides a wide range of cultural programmes to entertain teenagers and children. The history of these cultural exhibits date back to the 16th century. Here the must-see areas are the Miniature village, Historical Exhibition Hall and the traditional Korean Market. In 2006, World Pump Festival (A competition of the dance game Pump it up) was organized here, that attracted thousands of people from all over the world and this place was also used as a location where the Korean drama Stairway to Heaven was picturized.
